Throughout history, art has stayed true to its purpose as a statement of beauty, belief, and expression of imagination. In our post-industrialized world, art is becoming ever more manufactured, focusing on art as the final product.

It’s in this mass production process that we lose sight of the journey, the essence of creation that makes art real, and in doing so we lose something of humanity along the way. To counter this effect, we now explicitly set out our aspirations on the human experience of art.

Caliente Hot Glass Studio is a professional glass blowing studio in San Antonio, Texas and our focus is on the authentic experience of blown glass for artists, collectors, participants, and spectators alike.

Our artists have full creative autonomy in the creation of their art. This allows us to offer our guests a beautiful array of art glass running the gamut of color, style, technique, and form.

Our gallery showcases original glass art, available for purchase, by our artists who hail from San Antonio, Boerne, and Austin.

Our classes, demos, and events, are designed and led by artists allowing our guests and participants to see, experience, and understand the art of blowing glass as our artists do.

Commissioned art, from a single vessel to a full scale installation or light sculpture is designed and created by the same artist.

Our art is created by hand using classic Venetian methods tempered with American ingenuity. We never use molds to mass produce pieces, therefore each piece, even within a set is unique, crafted with purpose and vision by the artist.

Our driving force is authenticity. With this lens we foster community through our glass blowing demos and charitable events; growth for individuals and teams in our classes & teambuilding; and the proliferation of this ancient art form through the sale of our art.
